The "Transient' RESTAURANT

Every meal at Muang La Resort is a surprising discovery of tastes and pleasure. The concept of a ‘transient’ restaurant is that you can take your meals wherever you like; the one constant aspect is the quality and inventiveness of our chefs.

If the restaurant, which is on a large wooden deck overlooking the river doesn’t seem the perfect place to enjoy your meal, you can choose to take your meal on your private balcony, in a secluded corner of the gardens or on the small island facing the Lodge. Your meals can be served where you wish. Alternatively, why not let your hosts surprise by serving you in an unexpected and secret setting known only to them.

The varied menu lets you discover the wonderful and largely unknown cuisine of Laos. A modern cuisine fused with accents of other Asian countries. Under these accents of aromatic herbs and perfumed with coconut, Lao recipes are unlike any others. Carefully prepared, the traditional dishes open the doors of a wonderful culinary heritage and leave you with fond memories of fragrant, mouth-watering food. With a different menu every night (each offering a choice of 3 starters and 3 traditional Lao main courses) and the choice of dishes served for lunch, you won’t have too much time to discover the full range of Asian flavours available at Muang La Resort. 

And for total immersion into Lao life, we also offer the unique experience of a meal with local villagers in one of their homes and a cuisine course at the lodge.
